Have you heard of the Silver Infocomm Day?
The Silver Infocomm Day Series is an annual event where IDA works jointly with industry and community to enrich the infocomm learning experience of senior citizens. From 2007, more than 4500 senior citizens had attended the 3-in-1 event (talks, exhibition and hands-on training) featuring the latest in infocomm lifestyle trends.
The Silver Infocomm Curriculum aims to achieve the following:
- Setting up infocomm access facilities & offering training,
- Increase infocomm literacy among senior citizens, with a set of IT skills curriculum.
As such, we are recruiting helpers to help out for this event.
Helpers will be given roles at registration counters, cyber guides, or ushers.
Below states the event details:
Event Title: Silver Infocomm Day 2011
**Time: 8am - 6pm
**Date: 17, 18, 19 Sept 2011 (Sat, Sun, Mon)
Venue: Nanyang Polytechnic
**It’s best to make yourself available throughout the whole session on the dates you have chosen.
CCA points will be awarded, and helpers will be given free Silver Infocomm Day T-shirt.
Do not worry as lunch will be provided for helpers.

ADVENTURE CARNIVAL 2011
is an event planned by School of Information Technology (SIT), as well as School of Chemical & Life Sciences (SCL) students, and its aim is to provide opportunities to have fun, and at the same timechallenge other participating teams, just like the The Amazing Race which you see on TV!There will be more than 10 games being played, and you & your team of 6 to 8 members will have to overcome the possible obstacles and complete the challenge in the shortest time possible.
Points will be awarded, according to the amount of time or score that your team takes per game.
This event is EXCLUSIVE to ALL S.I.T. & S.C.L. Students only,
And there will be attractive prizes to be won!
So what are YOU waiting for?
Form a team of 6 to 8 students, with at least 3 girls in your team,
Pick up the forms at the booth located at Block L, Level 2 and sign up now!

STANDOUT'11/12 is an event planned by our Year 2 Students, which aims to provide opportunities for all S.I.T. Students and Alumni to showcase their talents (be it singing, dancing, acrobatics, and many many more), either as a group or an individual.
Being in this event will serve as an enriching experience, as participants will get to obtain valuable characteristics like on-stage charisma, highly competitive spirits and self-motivation, which will ultimately groom each participant to be a better person.
Rounds of auditions will be held, and there will be judges to judge the participants based on overall performance.
Attractive prizes will be awarded for winners, so do prepare for your showcase :)
If you wish to join, these are just a few guidelines to take note of:
- You may choose to join solo, or as a group of maximum 5 people,
- Performance item must not be anything obscene, political, racist or sexist,
- Performance language is bound strictly to English,
- You are only required to display one performance item, and not multiple,
- Participants are only open to ALL S.I.T. Students, and alumni,
- Late submissions will not be entertained, so any entries submitted after the given deadline will not be accepted.
